I am beyond excited to announce that I've partnered with local New Orleans poet, Deveree Extein, to establish Rhythm & Fleaux Poetry Club! Now based in the heart of the Crescent City, we’re bringing together poets, storytellers, and wordsmiths for something truly special.
What are the perks?
🗓️ Monthly meetings that spark creativity
✍️ Generative workshops to unleash your voice
🌍 A vibrant community of fellow poets
🎒 Inspirational field trips to fuel your muse
At Rhythm & Fleaux, we create a space where language thrives and the energy of the Big Easy runs through every line. Whether you’re new to poetry or a seasoned wordsmith, this is the place where your words can soar.
Join us in New Orleans—let’s find our rhythm together.
Michelle Awad is a Tennessee girl who swapped mountains for bayous and now calls New Orleans home. Poet, Scorpio, and full-time espresso enthusiast, she’s the author of “Soul Trash, Space Garbage” and “Poems for the Apocalypse: A Chapbook for the End of the World.”
When she’s not writing about love, ghosts, and impending doom, you’ll find her on her back porch in Algiers, sipping a gin cocktail and pondering the existence of parallel universes.
Deveree Extein is a word-slinging wanderer from the west coast, who luckily found her way to the vibrant city of New Orleans. She is your typical Capricorn, a lover of lists and a religious coffee connoisseur. She is the author of four poetry collections,”flicker”, ““Phoenix”, ““INCINERATED INNOCENCE” and the upcoming, ““Hurricane Her.”
When she isn’t haunting the swamps, Deveree likes to binge Law & Order SVU, cry to Taylor Swift songs, and feed treats to her kitten, Luna
